Art

Art engages children's senses in open-ended play and supports the development of cognitive, social-emotional and multisensory skills. As children progress into elementary school and beyond, art continues to provide opportunities for brain development, mastery, self-esteem and creativity. Printing, painting, play dough work, coloring, pasting, ripping, and free painting strokes are important elements to learn at this level. Young children ‘love to play with dough. They can squish and pound it and form it into fascinating shapes. Helping to make play dough lets children learn about measuring and learn and use new words. Young children are natural artists and art projects can spark young imaginations and help children to express themselves. Scribbling also prepares them to use writing to express their ideas.

Motor Skills

At our school, we are concentrating on developing the child’s fine motor skills, which includes using your child’s small muscles of the hands, wrists, and toes. A child's motor and mental skills require coordination between the child's brain and the execution of the desired movement. Motor skills include different things, such as: holding a pencil, cutting with scissors, gluing and pasting and holding a fork or spoon to eat.

We also focus on developing gross motor skills of child’s as well, by working on developing their large muscles skills in the body to perform fine and complex movements. These skills include body mobility, balancing, jumping, running, climbing, and more. Therefore, these skills play a crucial role in children's lives, as they contribute to improving motor coordination and enhancing thinking and social interaction skills.

Physical Education

In order to stay strong and healthy, our second graders strive to stay in shape and pick up new abilities. Through workouts and age-appropriate games, we teach them the value of maintaining excellent health in order to succeed in both their social and academic lives.

Phonics & Reading

MIS believes that reading at an early age is essential to achieving success in all subjects. For this reason, we develop our young learners' confidence in reading by teaching them the phonics and teaching them how to make connections between phonic sounds and the words they make. MIS students master the phonics, know the letter sounds and learn how to blend them together to form words. We talk about different sounds during the day with your child. Bringing the child’s attention to the Beginning, Middle, and Ending sounds of words is the first step. The next step is to introduce Sandpaper Letters to teach the “graphic codes” of the sounds. MIS leaning program depends on integration of skills in teaching phonics to kindergarten kids. Studying phonics is very important at the foundation stage. MIS leaning program helps to advance children’s’ tracing, identification, vocabulary development and communication skills. At the end of the year our young readers master all the phonics and start reading small sentences and words with short vowels.

Numeracy

Our Mastery students continue to further their mathematical knowledge, by learning to count from 1 to 20 onwards, recognize and write numbers 0- 20. Our KG2 students become more confident in recognizing and drawing shapes, sorting and classifying objects. They also learn pictorial and simple addition also.

Science

In MIS, KG-2 students use their senses to make observations of the characteristics and interactions of objects in their world. Students study the characteristics of water and the basic needs of living things. They also study the relationship between the sun and Earth through shadows and weather. They determine how their actions can change the motion of objects and learn how they can make a difference in their world. In kindergarten, students will develop skills in posing simple questions, conducting simple investigations, observing, classifying, and communicating information about the natural world. Our young learners also develop and use their senses to further their knowledge about various, animals, and plants.

Through this program, students improve their capacity for clear communication, hone their critical thinking skills, and increase their sense of self-worth. Our curriculum covers a wide range of public speaking-related topics, including prepared speeches and spontaneous speeches, to aid students in improving their communication abilities.

Computer & Robotics

Our computer and robotics curriculum nurtures problem-solving, computational thinking, and digital skills, preparing students for future STEM opportunities through engaging, hands-on learning. Students explore real-world applications, work on creative projects, and develop critical thinking skills that go beyond the classroom. By combining theory with practical experiences, we aim to make learning both meaningful and exciting, inspiring a lifelong curiosity for technology and innovation.

Art & Craft

Art & craft is a great way to teach kids different things. MIS Students study basic philosophy and take a guided approach, where the teacher demonstrates the concepts and process, building on the artistic techniques our kids already know. Our pupils can draw realistically and easily by breaking down items into their most basic forms. They like using their free-hand drawing, clay modeling, and painting abilities.

Well Being

At Our School, we place a high value on the complete development of our children, emphasizing both their general wellbeing and academic achievement. Our all-encompassing strategy involves creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for kids to express themselves, encouraging wholesome connections, and teaching essential life skills, such as resilience and stress management. We are aware that the best conditions for learning and personal development require a state of health and wellbeing.

Physical Education

In order to be strong and healthy, our fourth graders put a lot of effort into learning new skills and maintaining their physical fitness. We instill in them the importance of maintaining good health in order to thrive in both their social and academic life through exercises and developmentally appropriate games.
